Jordan Brand has unveiled the Tatum 5, the latest evolution of the Celtics star’s signature basketball shoe. This time around, the design centers on the idea of control, reflecting Tatum’s ability to dictate the pace of a game while staying composed under pressure.
The most noticeable addition is a utility strap wrapping across the upper, designed to improve containment without weighing the shoe down. Underfoot sits a 10mm forefoot Zoom Air unit, while a molded midfoot wrap and heel structure provide additional stability during hard cuts and changes of direction. Traction comes through a herringbone pattern utilizing HART 2.0 rubber, while strategically placed mesh ventilation zones help keep the overall construction lightweight and breathable.
There are personal touches, too. Tatum’s familiar number “0” receives a new treatment inspired by the Gateway Arch in his hometown of St. Louis, continuing the autobiographical details that have appeared throughout his signature series. There are five strikes at the heel, a reminder of his career-altering injury that occurred during the 2025 Playoffs.
Jordan Brand will introduce the Tatum 5 with the “Sunrise” colorway, inspired by sunrise over Boston. A complementary “Sunset” edition will follow, with the two representing Tatum’s work ethic from the beginning of the day through its end.
A “Laser” edition of the Tatum 5 was also on display at a media preview; this version is inspired by Jayson’s passion for tattoo artwork and features a number of details connected to his life, including landmarks at Duke University, his championship season in 2024, his son Deuce, and more.
The Jordan Tatum 5 “Sunrise” launches in full-family sizing on September 24th in China, with a global release to follow.
