Japanese anime continues to be a goldmine for the Crocs company. Next up: Chainsaw Man is teaming up with Crocs for a four-shoe collection launching first at New York Comic Con on October 8th.
Four designs have been revealed, representing Chainsaw Man, Power, Pochita, and the series as a whole. Rather than simply covering Classic Clogs in character graphics, Crocs appears to be taking advantage of the anime’s more outrageous visual elements.
Chainsaw Man gets the wildest treatment; the red-and-black clog features an actual chainsaw-inspired attachment running across the upper, complete with jagged teeth that mimic Denji’s transformed appearance. Pochita’s clog comes predominantly in yellow, with a much smaller chainsaw protruding from the toe in reference to the lovable Chainsaw Devil. Power inspires another particularly literal interpretation, combining blue, red, and white with her signature horns extending from the heel strap. A red necklace-like accessory is also draped across the upper. The fourth pair takes a more traditional approach, dressing the clog in red and black and loading it with Jibbitz charms referencing characters and imagery from throughout the anime.
The Chainsaw Man x Crocs collection will make its debut on October 8th at New York Comic Con, where it will be available through a Chainsaw Man booth powered by Foot Locker. A wider release is expected later this fall.
