Josh Giddey is team PUMA Hoops. The Chicago Bulls guard took to the @pumahoops IG with an official announcement, confirming he’s joining LaMelo Ball, Tyrese Haliburton, and Breanna Stewart on the Big Cat’s growing basketball roster.
Giddey came into the league as a Nike athlete and exclusively wore Kobe Bryant shoes on-court, including a PE version of the recently-released Kobe 6 “Total Orange” last season. It become clear that Giddey’s Nike deal expired when he was seen wearing ANTA shoes in warm-ups in January; just a day after posting an IG story about selling his Kobe collection.
It remains to be seen whether Giddey will get a signature PUMA Shoe, but the Bulls’ court general will unquestionably get more attention from PUMA than he got from Nike during his tenure. That’s not a knock on the Swoosh, but a testament to the depth and starpower of its sponsored player pool. In any case, Giddey mentions wanting to help support PUMA’s growth in his home country of Australia.
