The Kobe Bryant x Nike Dunk Low Protro “Draft Day” releases Summer 2026. The silhouette is another homage to a major NBA draft moment. The Charlotte Hornets originally drafted Kobe Bryant 13th overall in 1996 before immediately trading him to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The retro-inspired colorway takes cues from the Hornets’ color scheme of the time with Fierce Purple, Blue Lagoon, and Sail throughout. While the initial images shared are mock-ups, the actual release will be in a Protro form factor. The Nike Dunk Low will feature its traditional heritage design, but with a range of modern performance updates and improvements. Expect to see signature Kobe Bryant branding in addition to the traditional Swoosh.
The “Draft Day” theme is a special concept for Kobe Bryant sneaker collections. The trading of one of the league’s greatest talents for Hall of Fame careers is one of the more widely recognized deals of all time. As of late, Nike has expanded Kobe’s sneaker game to also include lifestyle silhouettes. However, this Dunk Low Protro will appeal to both basketball and sneakerheads alike.
