New Balance 1000 Cordura “Black Cement” M1000J

As we’ve posited many times in the past, and especially in recent weeks as we gear up for the start of the colder months, it’s never too much of a surprise to see brands outfitting their staple shoes for harsher climates. However, New Balance has unleashed a heavier effort than we would’ve predicted, making it clear that their goal is for none of their core lifestyle models to fall out of your rotation for the end of 2025 and the start of next year.

Having already checked off weatherized versions via the New Balance 1906R Primaloft and the New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX, a third material makeup and third silhouette enters the mix with the New Balance 1000 CORDURA. As opposed to those catalog peers, only one colorway is on tap as this new build comes to light, a fittingly dusky profile to befit the shift to similarly dark tones in winter outfits.

Yet even within those bounds, there are select chances for this shoe to bring a bit of brighter energy into the mix, as teal accents hit the lace loops and a CORDURA branding tag introduces orange. For the material itself, you’ll spot it on the toe guard and heel, additionally adding backing to the mesh underlays to ensure waterproofing for the typically warm-weather model.

The New Balance 1000 CORDURA “Black Cement” is expected to release sometime in the Holiday 2025 window, stretching from October to December. A $170 retail price is confirmed. Catch official images below and watch our Sneaker Release Dates page to be the first to know when these make landfall.
