Nike is pushing ACG further into the hiking space with the Zegama Hike, a new model made for people who actually spend long days outside. It takes what worked on the Zegama Trail and reworks it for rougher ground, pairing the lighter feel of a runner with the extra support you would want from a boot. The first colorway lands in a bright green finish with waterproof ripstop across the upper, so it looks loud right away but still feels built for real weather and real trails.
ACG has trended upward in recent years being dialed in lately, and this pair checks all those boxes. Nike clearly wants to design apparel around mobility, demands of the activity, and environmental elements mother nature can bring against us. You can see that design mentality across the board from lightweight layers built to perform in the sun, wind, rain, and cold to footwear engineered to run, hike, and traverse mixed terrain comfortably without being bulky or excessive.
Nike straddled the line between trail shoe and hiking boot perfectly with the ACG Zegama Hike. It’s that in-between factor that we love about it. The stacked foam underfoot provides comfort for longer adventures, while the fit system keeps your foot planted when the trails get rough. An Vibram Megagrip outsole laces things up with grip on both wet and dry conditions.
