Brands continue to pull out all the stops as the World Cup approaches. While we’re not formally keeping score as every major player fires off shots across the bow, there’s no doubt that some of adidas’ activaitons and announcements in the lead-up have been show-stoppers, manufacturers of dozens of official kits you’ll see in action this summer and developers of the official game ball.
Yet it’s not only on the pitch where the German giant’s presence is felt. Beginning to leverage some of their foremost collaborators for the occasion, including with the Wales Bonner cleat included in Grace’s SS26 capsule, adidas has just checked off another A-list partner. Edison Chen of CLOT has just teased his brand’s take on the adidas Mundial, posting a tight toe shot that displays a clever flip on its etched uppers. In place of the usual radial arrangement, the CLOT appears etched into the leather of this likely upcoming pair. Cork Three Stripes branding and an Espadrille sole, a touch previously utilized on the Gazelle, are also visible on this ostensibly black-heavy colorway.
