Carpet Company brings its Baltimore-built identity to Salomon with a limited XT-Whisper Void release inspired by the brand’s “Habibi Express” van. The Carpet Company x Salomon XT-Whisper Void releases May 16th at Carpet Company’s Baltimore flagship, May 17th online at 8 PM ET, and May 21st through Salomon.
The collaboration is limited to 1,720 pairs, with the number nodding to 1720 Llewelyn Ave, the Baltimore warehouse tied to the “Habibi Express.” Each pair includes co-branding and individual numbering on the insole, giving the release a personal connection to Carpet Company’s home base.
The colorway pulls directly from Carpet Company’s 1995 Honda Acty Street van. A glossy upper shifts between deep red and warm orange tones, while yellow traction underfoot adds a trail-ready contrast. Cobalt blue lines the collar, and the neon lime insole gives the shoe another loud hit of color.
The XT-Whisper Void’s technical build gives the story more room to work. Black mesh openings, molded overlays, and Salomon’s trail-inspired tooling keep the silhouette functional, while the iridescent TPU panels reference the reflective windows of the van.
Carpet Company’s DIY background makes this collaboration feel more personal than a standard color swap. Founded by brothers Ayman and Osama Abdeldayem in 2016, the brand built its name through hand-screen-printed apparel, skate decks, and a strong local identity.
The Carpet Company x Salomon XT-Whisper Void blends skate culture, outdoor design, and a real Baltimore reference into one of Salomon’s more colorful collaborations. With only 1,720 pairs releasing, this drop should move quickly across its staggered launch dates.
