A chapter is closing on one of the most impactful sneaker retailers connected to Jordan Brand. Trophy Room has announced that it will close its doors after 10 years in business.
Founded by Marcus Jordan in 2016, Trophy Room aimed to center itself around Jordan family history. From store decor to released products, the focus was never meant to position Trophy Room as your average sneaker boutique. The business capitalized off its relationship with the Jordan Brand by integrating Michael Jordan’s legacy into its narrative through memorabilia, curated storytelling, and product releases.

Trophy Room became known as a hot-spot for Jordan Brand limited releases, especially for collectors looking to cop an exclusive drop in the South Florida region. A significant part of Trophy Room’s success story involved its Jordan Brand sneakers, as these releases reliably produced enormous demand and immediate resale market attention.
One drawback to Trophy Room’s reputation came as certain releases were followed up by accusations from sneaker community members of “backdooring” products. Most of these allegations were towards its Air Jordan releases. While nothing was truly confirmed about these accusations, they became somewhat synonymous with the retailer.
Jordan confirmed that while Trophy Room will no longer function as a retailer, the brand will live on in different forms. The company’s trademark and IP will not expire, allowing for the possibility of special projects or releases under the Trophy Room name in the future, or perhaps even a revamped version of Trophy Room.
News of Trophy Room shutting down also caused new rumors to surface about the recently announced Trophy Room x Air Jordan 6. Speculation about the shoe first began earlier in 2024, with fans assuming at the time that the shoe would eventually release. However, with the store going out of business it now seems unlikely that we will ever see the collaboration release.
Regardless if how fans feel about Trophy Room’s history, its legacy as a retailer will live on in sneaker culture. Jordan’s story-telling approach to selling sneakers was unmatched by any other retailer during its time in business.
