After months of rumors and early reports, the first official glimpse of the upcoming Jordan Brand x Mowalola collaboration has finally surfaced. Shared via the brand’s social channels, the teaser carouseel offers only a partial look at the footwear, revealing little more than the toe-box and forefoot area. Still, even this restrained preview confirms one of the collection’s key details.; the upper features MOWALOLA branding etched directly into the shoe in an elegant script treatment, signaling a distinctly fashion-oriented approach to the collaboration.
The limited reveal leaves plenty of questions unanswered, but previous reports have already outlined an ambitious scope for the project. In addition to a traditional Air Jordan 14, the collection is expected to introduce an Air Jordan 14 Mule, marking the first time the silhouette has ever been transformed into a backless format. The move reveals Jordan Brand’s willingness to experiment with some of its most recognizable archival models through a contemporary lens.
Footwear won’t be the only focus. The Nigerian-born designer’s teaser also revealed apparel featuring brown-and-black plaid patterns alongside other garments that appear to borrow heavily from European sportswear aesthetics, specifically Prada’s signature Rossa Luna red stripe. There’s also a collared shirt in what appears to be perforated leather, a zippered closure at the neck, and a black Jumpman on the chest.
With both the Air Jordan 14 and the debut Air Jordan 14 Mule reportedly on the way this Fall, expect additional previews to emerge in the coming weeks.
