Part of the reason some found Lil Yachty’s first Nike Air Force 1 disappointing is because we in the sneaker community know he’s capable of better. The Atlanta-born rapper is a key face of the current generation of collectors, expressing deep knowledge and appreciation for Nike history, especially as it pertains to the 2000s. His follow-up saw him flex his creative muscles, channeling the powers of Nigo with a patent leather “Lucky Green” release that appears to have reset the trajectory of his Nike partnership.
We’re now over a year removed from the last Lil Yachty x Nike Air Force 1, but that doesn’t mean we’ve been without headlines. Lil Boat has clearly been in the lab, cooking up a number of new Low and Mid styles, some likely samples or F&F pairs, others potentially releasing. Here we have a new Air Force 1 Mid featuring an orange patent leather foundation and black stars, a Halloween-esque spin on Yachty’s Air Force 1 Mid “2006 All-Star.”
Whether the Lil Yachty x Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Orange Stars” sees a public release remains to be seen. If it does, a Halloween drop would probably make the most sense. See detailed pics below and stay tuned for updates.
