This Nike Air Force 1 Laser Celebrates North African Beats

Nike is following up its Air Max 95 “Family Reunion” pack by sending the Air Force 1 on a world tour of its own, teeing up three colorways featuring local themes. The first pair to surface in earnest is a crisp white leather colorway covered in laser-etched graphics, drawing from the influence of North African rhythms on hip-hop.

Laser-etched Air Force 1s are, of course, nothing new. The Mark Smith-led design process first reached retail on the model in 2003 and has recently returned to focus through the upcoming Air Jordan 3 “Laser”, inspired by a one-of-one pair gifted to Michael Jordan, as well as the scheduled return of the Air Jordan 4 “Laser Pack” in 2027.

As with many “Laser” releases, there is a clear narrative embedded in the artwork. Repeating arabesque patterns cover the toe box and quarter panels, creating a visual throughline to the traditional Islamic art and architecture found throughout North Africa. Circular graphics on the lace dubrae, lateral heel, and insoles reference both turntable pivot points and vinyl records, the latter taken in an orange hue dubbed “Marrakesh” after the Moroccan city. The primary hip-hop connection is the Air Force 1 itself, especially in its classic all-white leather makeup.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low ’07 “Laser” aka “Family Reunion” is expected to arrive Fall/Winter 2026 via Nike and select retailers. Two additional Air Force 1 styles are included in the broader project, one being an Air Force 1 Luxe, though details regarding their respective inspirations have yet to surface.
