A pink patent leather Nike Air Force 1 Low is already building momentum ahead of an expected 2026 arrival. Teased by longtime Nike designer Frank Cooke, the pair continues a quiet return to bold finishes and statement-driven color execution.
Patent leather Air Force 1s have an interesting and storied position in the sneaker universe. High-shine pairs were all the rage in street fashion during the early 2000s and were as much about bravado and confidence as they were about sneakers. It also makes sense that glossy versions of the silhouette would make a comeback this way. Patent leather uppers have seen a resurgence recently on a wide variety of Nike Sportswear models.
Nike has yet to provide any details on the unreleased Air Force 1 Low. However, the bubblegum pink colorway is clear as day, with the upper, midsole, and outsole taking on an exact same hue for a glossy, monochromatic effect. Dark blue or purple accents throughout the silhouette on the Swoosh, heel tab, and tongue have a nice contrast but do not take away from the overall continuity of the shoe.
The design overall could best be described as reserved aggression. The patent leather finish on a shoe as iconic as the AF1 is a mark of high-end or at least attention grabbing, and although the sneakers have earned that moniker, the minimalist approach keeps the shoe safely within the Air Force 1 family. When contrasted with the subtlety and restraint of more muted leather retros, the pair almost feel like it was designed to be seen.
At the moment, Nike has yet to confirm any information on the Air Force 1 Low colorway. The projected release window is currently Spring or Summer 2026, and it should be widely available through Nike.com as well as select retailers.
