Brooks’ bona fides in the running space are really beyond reproach. However, in the past several years, the American brand has signaled it smells opportunity. Footwear turning back to Y2K performance has allowed Brooks to drive wholeheartedly into its own archives, framing designs from its Adrenaline and Cascadia series as faces of a renewed lifestyle push.
Of course, no one with hopes of making noise in modern sneakers can ignore the collaborative front. Brooks has found a willing partner in Jeff Staple, now returning for his second capsule under their banner with double the product. This latest pairs Brooks’ aspirational goals with their well-established strong suit, as Jeff and co. bring their touch to both the Cascadia and the performance Ghost Trail.
While there are hints of the “Pigeon” hallmarks that made the designer a household name, the Cascadia delves into earthy overtones with subtle teal accents. At the same time, the Ghost Trail lives up to its name with an off-white and tan combo handling most of its real estate, sneaking some rosy flourishes onto the outsole.
Either pair in the Staple x Brooks Cascadia / Ghost Trail collection should be touching down on February 5th, both retailing for $170.
