Slim sneakers remain among today’s most sought-after lifestyle models, from high fashion brands down to the faces and names we track daily. The Nike Astrograbber is arguably the Swoosh’s strongest rebuttal to styles like the adidas Samba and PUMA Speedcat, a 1970s turf shoe that serves as a solid jumping-off point with its simple upper and timeless waffle-inspired traction.
With winter in full swing, Nike is dropping a fresh “Winter Canvas” Astrograbber pack featuring material changes befitting the season.
Three colorways make up the pack: Linen/Sail, Medium Olive/Cacao Wow, and Pecan/Tough Red. All feature canvas uppers, leather Swooshes, and synthetic suede/nubuck on the heel and eyelets. Most notable perhaps are added layers of canvas just above the sole, likely intended to provide added durability and protection. We can’t say these will hold up great in snow and sleet and the like, but the winter aesthetic is clearly there.
