Cold weather usually sends brands toward bulky boots. Nike went another way. Instead of piling on weight, the brand leaned into restraint. That choice turns a vintage runner into something better suited for winter without losing its easy feel.
Nike’s Astro Grabber “Winter Canvas” Pack features three total colorways: Linen/Sail, Medium Olive/Cacao Wow, and Pecan/Tough Red. Constructed around tightly woven canvas, each pair features added durability to the upper, boasting a harder hand-feel than its predecessor. Smooth leather is implemented on the Swoosh while softer suede materials are placed at the heel and eyelets to break things up.
Wrapping around the lower sidewall is an additional layer of canvas that hugs just above the midsole. Far from brash, the texture reads as subtle protection. The signature low profile of the Astro Grabber remains, but feels much more winter-ready with its rugged build.
Color does most of the talking across the pack. Linen/Sail keeps things warm and neutral with a cream Swoosh and brown midsole. Medium Olive pushes a more outdoorsy tone through deeper earth shades. Pecan/Tough Red stands apart, pairing a reddish-brown base with a glossy red Swoosh that pops against the rugged, lugged outsole.
