Anyone worth their salt in skateboarding knows the importance of one Thrasher Magazine. One of the longest-standing publications in the genre, its influence over streetwear is almost as great, having dotted sidewalks with logo tees far beyond its skatepark origins. Circa 2006, it was only right for a then-burgeoning label in Nike SB to turn to the standard-bearers, outfitting the Nike SB in subtle style with the brand’s logo on the heel.
Cut to 20 years later, and though there are more names to watch in skating than ever before, Thrasher’s legacy is steadfast. As the imprint rings in an astonishing 45th year, Thrasher began teasing a new Nike SB Blazer as All-Star Weekend raged on, something of an inverse take on the silhouette, steeped in the original’s palette. Following an extremely truncated rollout schedule, this collaboration is already available, making good on that reverse twist with black suede uppers and off-white/pale gold trim, furnished with the same iconic stamp on the heel.
