Next up on “Jordans that never released, but should” is the Friends & Family Air Jordan 4 “Wings” from 2019, gifted to James Whitner during an NBA All-Star Weekend event at Social Status.
Brought back to our attention by sneaker grail collector/reseller @depeche23mode, the Jordan 4 “Wings” features a premium black leather base with University Blue-esque accents throughout. The true separator, beyond its rarity, is the midsole and backtab, each marked by delicate blue and yellow paint splatter.

The sneaker was created as part of the Jordan Wings program, which launched in 2015 as a means of providing scholarships, design training, and internships to students. The initiative does release sneakers, including an Air Jordan 5 “Wings” last year, but this Air Jordan 4 is a Friends & Family pair reportedly produced in super-limited quantities. We can only dream.
To state the obvious, the these won’t ever see a public release. However, 2026 is shaping up to be another strong year for the model, headlined by Nigel Sylvester’s Jordan 4 “Cinnabar” and a Jordan 4 “Bred” retro. Hit our Jordan Release Dates page for the full rundown.
