The Kim Kardashian x Nike era is officially underway. The celebrity among celebrities is coming off the wide release of her first collaborative NikeSkims model, a new spin on the Air Rift featuring thin mesh designed to complement the foot in the same way the brand’s apparel complements the body.
Next in line is a NikeSkims Air Rift in “Light Bone,” set to release March 13th. Originally introduced as a runner inspired by the barefoot runners of Kenya, the Air Rift is given a new super-slim mesh build meant to gel seamlessly with the foot. The most clever change comes underfoot, where hundreds of tiny Skims logos make up the traction. The tabi-toed, open forefoot silhouette plays extraordinarily well into the ongoing ballet shoe trend, currently seeing a renaissance across the board through a wave of new in-house styles featuring different materials and patterns.
