Nike Makes Another Air Max Day Splash With The Liquid Max On March 26th

Since 2014, Nike has used Air Max Day to celebrate its legacy in Air, the brand’s most iconic and distinctly “Nike” cushioning system of all time. The annual moment often doubles as a launchpad for new models designed to push the category forward, including the past two years’ focus on Dynamic Air with the Air Max Dn and Air Max DN8.

For 2026, Nike is introducing something entirely new. The Nike Air Liquid Max leverages insights gathered over four decades of innovation, promising exceptional comfort through a design language rooted in nature. After early previews from Fragment Design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara and rising American rapper Yeat, the Swoosh has now officially unveiled everything there is to know about the model.

Many of you pointed out that the Air Liquid Max’s cushioning setup resembles frog feet, and you’re not wrong. The model specifically draws inspiration from the poison dart frog, a theme reflected in both the Air system design and the three-layer, textured nanoprint upper.

The cushioning system is engineered to replicate the feeling of walking on air as closely as possible. At its core is a contoured Air unit that’s both flexible and intentionally low to the ground. “Point-loaded” is the key buzzword here. Sole images reveal roughly two dozen point-loaded Air zones, delivering support only where it’s needed while reducing unnecessary weight.

The Nike Air Liquid Max debuts in “Black/Green Apple/Volt/Chrome” on Air Max Day 2026 (March 26th). Retail is set at $230. See official images below before deciding whether to cop.
