Jordan Brand is revisiting one of its earliest training silhouettes as the Jordan Trunner LX “Bred” prepares to return. The model holds a special place in the brand’s history, originally launching as the first non-basketball shoe under the Jumpman banner. While the Trunner stepped outside the hardwood, its original color schemes still leaned heavily on Chicago inspiration.
One of the most recognizable early colorways was the “Bred,” also known as the “Bulls” edition, famously worn by boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. in early promotional campaigns. The design draws from the classic black-and-red palette tied to Chicago basketball culture, helping connect the performance trainer to Jordan Brand’s roots.
For its latest comeback, the overall design remains faithful to the original formula. The upper features a mostly black build across the forefoot and interior, delivering a sleek and performance-focused look. White segmented leather panels wrap around the toe area, adding durability and structure to the training silhouette.
The main update appears on the heel. Earlier versions, including the pair that returned in 2017, used Gym Red accents. This new release instead introduces a brighter University Red, giving the familiar colorway a slightly sharper contrast while still preserving its classic identity.
Aside from that adjustment, the retro stays true to the original concept that helped define the Trunner line. Its blend of athletic function and signature Jordan styling continues to resonate with longtime fans as the model experiences renewed attention.
The Jordan Trunner LX “Bred” is expected to launch soon through Nike.com and select retailers with a retail price of $135 USD. As part of the current retro cycle, the release will once again arrive exclusively in women’s sizing, continuing the silhouette’s modern rollout strategy.
