New Balance Expands The ABZORB Family With The 5030

The title of “newest New Balance model” has turned into a real game of king of the hill in recent seasons. The Boston brand has rolled out a steady stream of potential successors to its current heavy hitters, spanning a wide range of aesthetics and sneaker subsets. That includes the New Balance 5030, first previewed at Paris Fashion Week and now set to debut in multiple colorways for April 2026.

Like the New Balance 2000 and 2010, the New Balance 5030 is built with ABZORB SBS cushioning, reworking that dated yet still viable tech into a design tailored for the modern day. The name points to the uber-popular New Balance 530 as a key reference, although the 5030 reads more as an entirely new model than a direct spin-off.

Oval-shaped detailing runs throughout, led by an array of debossed lines that ripple out from the tongue and stretch across the upper. New Balance’s N logo makes its usual appearance at the quarter, while ABZORB SBS pods are visible in the heel of a chunky midsole. The upper appears to be constructed from a padded nylon material, though New Balance has shown plenty of versatility when it comes to material makeups on its lifestyle offerings. The upcoming Slam Jam New Balance 5030 previewed at Paris Fashion Week, for instance, leans into a glossy silver leather finish.

The New Balance 5030 releases April 1st, 2026 in multiple colorways, including Black/Electric Indigo and White/Magic Blue.
