Nike’s Air Max Day 2026 Is The Best It’s Been In Years

The conversation surrounding Nike Air Max Day has taken a bit of a turn in recent years. What was once a marquee moment for the brand to celebrate its legacy in Air has seemingly lost some steam, with some of the brand’s newer models, while solid in their own right, struggling to break through as true mainstream hits.

2026, however, might be the year things shift back in the right direction. Leading the charge is the Nike Air Liquid Max, an all-new model featuring a sculpted, almost liquid-like point-loaded Air unit and an upper inspired by the poison dart frog. The 3D-printed Air Max 1000 returns in a striking “Black/Volt” colorway, while Sergio Lozano’s Air Max 95 continues its strong run with a mix of new and familiar looks – including a way too early Sneaker of the Year contender.

Nike Air Liquid Max

Nike’s new Air Max Day 2026 model is the Air Liquid Max, featuring a sculpted, point-loaded Air unit underfoot that delivers support where it’s needed while trimming unnecessary weight. The upper draws inspiration from the poison dart frog, executed through a three-layer mesh construction featuring hundreds of small dots. This “Green Apple/Volt” colorway marks the model’s debut, soon to be followed by a Fragment Design collaboration in early April.

Ducks of a Feather x Nike Air Max 95 “Tall Firs”

Ducks of a Feather, a clothing brand by and for Oregon student-athletes, is dropping arguably its strongest Nike sneaker collaboration to date on Air Max Day, and a potential Sneaker of the Year contender at that. The Air Max 95 “Tall Firs” collection – named after Oregon’s 1938–39 Oregon Ducks men’s basketball team that won the inaugural NCAA championship – features designs inspired by the Pacific Northwest. The “Lumber Yard” draws from wood textures, while “The Woods” features moss-like hairy suede.

Following a Flight Club drop on March 21st, both pairs are set to release exclusively via GOAT on Air Max Day.

Patta x Nike Air Max 1

Patta returns to the Nike Air Max 1 with another “Waves” style for Air Max Day 2026, this one featuring a white base with Hyper Crimson Swooshes.

Nike Air Max 1000 “Black/Volt”

Created in collaboration with 3D-printed footwear company Zellerfeld, the Air Max 1000 returns in an edgy black colorway featuring Volt Air units.

Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared”

Tinker Hatfield’s Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared” returns for Air Max Day – but with a twist. This version swaps the traditional mesh base for a reflective leather upper. So it’s not technically an OG, but still a solid offering regardless.

Nike Air Max 95 “Greedy”

Originally released to much fanfare in 2015, the Nike Air Max 95 “Greedy” returns over a decade later, now equipped with OG-inspired “big bubble” tooling.

Nike Air Max 95 “Bandana”

Who says old dogs can’t learn new tricks? The Nike Air Max 95 “Bandana” reworks the iconic silhouette with multi-color paisley prints across the side panels. Neon hits on the lace loops, Swooshes, and Air units recall the model’s most iconic colorway.

Nike Air Max 95 “Pink Foam”

The Kim Kardashian-endorsed Air Max 95 “Pink Foam” returns once again for Air Max Day 2026. Originally released in 2020, this style has resurfaced in “big bubble” mode multiple times over the past year or so.
