The Vans Authentic Lassoes A Pony Hair Animal Print Pack

As Grace Wales Bonner’s takes on the adidas Samba took over the industry, the runaway success of those collaborative efforts tacitly established a playbook for competing brands. Nike with their Field General, PUMA with their Speedcat, or New Balance with their 204L have brought zoological patterns to simplistically crafted sneakers, many of which have already served as steadfast members of the catalog before those trendy takeovers.

With that formula now well-trod, it’s somewhat of a shock that we’re now seeing Vans wade into those waters for the first time. Landing during an hot streak for the California company, two dueling applications in snowy leopard print and more traditional beige and black come over the Authentic, itself experiencing a deluge of fresh takes for Spring 2026. While those prints would be enough to mark these as a step outside of Vans’ comfort zone, they only double down with the materiality, as hairy uppers further cement the motif at work.
