Cecilie Bahnsen is giving the ASICS GEL-Quantum 360 a look that barely feels rooted in performance footwear. Rather than playing it safe, she strips the upper down and rebuilds it with a no-sew Mary Jane shape that changes the whole mood. The sole still brings that chunky, segmented look, but the upper pulls things in a softer, more fashion-leaning direction.
Bahnsen’s influence is evident right away in the finer details. The rubber bootie opening lends some snug comfort to the shoe as if it were almost slip-on, while the blossom cutout across the top steals the show. Little floral embossments stamped across the toe and sides is the final touch that compliments without cluttering. The whole aesthetic is breezy and refined while still feeling a little off-kilter in the best way possible.
The pale pink shade arrives as you would expect and lends itself nicely to the overall concept while giving the shoe its lighter, sweet demeanor. Every minute detail pops just a bit more, especially the floral cuts and soft matte finishes. The black pair presents itself entirely different. It feels sleeker, slightly sharper, and allows the glossy accents to speak for themselves.
