Isn’t it a shame that All-Star Weekend and Black Friday garner more attention on our front page than Mother’s Day?
Clearly, that’s the opinion of Steven Mena and his MENACE brand. Hot off of his first link-up with adidas Originals this past October, the imprint is circling back to the adidas Superstar once again as moms and their progeny gear up for the big day. The “Old Rose” redux utilizes much of the same build from that 2025 edition, from the paisley patterning that alludes to Mena’s hometown to the pronounced heel patches that help add extra depth. The big shift, then, is the change in tonality, something the man himself explains:
“When adidas Originals brought us to headquarters to design this shoe, the first thing I did was call my mom and ask her favorite color. Her answer became the foundation for the entire design language of our Superstar. “‘Old Rose’ is dedicated to my mom and the sacrifices she made so I could pursue my dream in streetwear and fashion through MENACE. These shoes carry her spirit, the weight of those sacrifices, and the love that is the foundation for everything we’ve built. This one is for my mom, and for every mom out there.”






The MENACE x adidas Superstar will first release via an in-person activation in Los Angeles on May 9th. The first 100 attendees with their mothers or a loved one at large will receive free flowers, as well as a free second pair with the purchase of a first. For those not on the West Coast for Mother’s Day, this pair releases on adidas CONFIRMED and via the MENACE site on May 10th, retailing for $180.
