Is there a limit to how far the hybrid movement will go? adidas seems the most intent on finding that outer bound. As we’ve surely mentioned countless times before, the sneaker loafer category is incredibly well stocked, but the Three Stripes has staked out further explorations than their competitors; hitting both straightforward formalwear and bowling shoes, the latter with several mainline and collab iterations.
Yet the shoe at hand has to be their wildest swing to date. Seen best with a dark brown suede colorway, a boat shoe upper, complete with embossed mudguards and a pronounced toe, meets the sectioned sole unit from the ClimaCOOL 1. Of course, the silhouette is back in focus both for its product family, now stretching onto the Climacool 3-D Printed series, but Brain Dead has also helped notch new colorways for the sneaker’s second iteration. While the brown pair allows the mash-up concept to shine, things are a bit more seamless with a black leather, obviously aligning with the tones expected in formal settings.
The adidas ClimaCOOL 1 Boat Shoe should be touching down as the Summer/Fall slate marches ahead.
