Nike and Zellerfeld have revealed yet another 3D-printed shoe with the Air Max 1000.2 “Black/Hyper Crimson.” The updated model releases through a raffle on Zellerfeld.com starting May 25, with entries closing May 28. Winners will be contacted after the raffle ends, and retail is set at $179.
Nike’s Air Max 1000 project was already noteworthy for being completely 3D-printed, but its .2 version demonstrates just how rapidly the process can change. Rather than waiting around for some broad production leap, Zellerfeld can tweak things much more incrementally here. This matters on the Air Max 1000.2 because it retains the same innovative silhouette while upgrading the ride.
The biggest changes sit on the outsole. This version features a reshaped bottom and a more efficient lug pattern, giving the model a slightly more functional update without changing its overall identity. Visually, it still carries the sculpted, foam-like look that made the original Air Max 1000 feel more like a concept brought to life.
The “Black/Hyper Crimson” is one of the strongest statements we’ve seen on the silhouette. A predominantly black 3D-printed upper maintains the low-key aesthetics of the design, while injections of Hyper Crimson Air provides pop through the midsole. Following up on the recent all-black release, this pair ramps up the contrast while staying true to the model’ technical sensibilities.
The Nike Air Max 1000.2 “Black/Hyper Crimson” almost feels like another test shoe in Nike and Zellerfeld’ catalog. With raffle beginning May 25th and ending May 28th, this sneaker gives us another peek into how these 3D printed shoes could evolve right before our eyes.
