Custom shoes are no longer in their infancy. Many of those who started out by tinkering with already established designs, experimental as those choices may have been, have moved into the big leagues. Names like Mache and John Geiger have gone on to build their own independent empires, and some of those who brought “unsanctioned” takes to the big brand’s products have moved into becoming officially accepted members of the ecosystem.
Formerly known as Flou Customs, Stan Birch is a success story in the latter realm, now earnestly unveiling his first collaboration with Saucony. Teased throughout various Fashion Weeks, the Stan Birch Saucony ProGrid Guide 7 is finally at hand. His overall comfort in this realm is immediately apparent through new materiality (double mesh sets the foundation on this pair) and a multicolor palette, in which rich burgundies, mint greens, and off-whites collide across the layered retro runner. Yet Stan’s personal “Stand Out” philosophy is at the center via interchangeable Three Rivers logos, able to change between a white/red and a proud gold to go along with multiple lace options.
The Stan Birch x Saucony ProGrid Guide 7 releases on September 10th for $165, dropping via Saucony.com and partnering retailers. Catch official campaign images below.
