Kevin Durant will be stepping out of basketball and onto football turf with his next signature release. The PSG x Nike KD 6 was recently unveiled by @uninstructedvision on Instagram. The collaboration bridges Nike Basketball and Paris Saint-Germain at a high point for the French club.
The recent victory of Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League, overcoming Arsenal to claim their long-desired title, imbues this KD 6 project with a significance beyond just a standard team-inspired colorway. The shoe also debuts as football fashion continues transitioning further into sneakers, streetwear, and basketball shoes.
One shoe on the PSG x Nike KD 6 is white leather construction with navy and red accents, PSG branding on the tongue, KD details on the heel, and visible Air cushioning. For its counterpart, the design shifts to a darker palette, featuring a metallic silver upper, navy patent overlays, red accents, and a large “35” emblazoned on the heel.
Nike likely subtly pays homage to the Total 90 via the circular “35” graphic. It’s a detail that strongly connects with football’s heritage, particularly because the T90 series continues to evoke fond memories for long-time Nike supporters. This also gives Durant’s number a more sport-specific appearance, rather than just a basic heel logo.
