Back in March, members of Team Puerto Rico offered an early look at one of the most eye-catching cleats of the World Baseball Classic. Now, it appears that colorway is finally making its way to the public.
The adidas Badbo 1.0 baseball cleat is expected to release later this summer in a familiar blue, white, and red color scheme inspired by Puerto Rico’s historic flag. Originally seen on the feet of Team Puerto Rico athletes during the World Baseball Classic, the retail version remains largely unchanged from the PE.
There is one notable difference; the original cleat featured “PR” and “BB” embroidery along the ankle collar, a direct nod to Puerto Rico and Bad Bunny, whose growing partnership with adidas continues to extend beyond lifestyle footwear and into performance sports. The upcoming retail edition retains the “PR” branding but replaces the “BB” lettering with the standard adidas Performance logo seen on the Badbo 1.0 drops.
The release also highlights the growing influence of Bad Bunny within the adidas ecosystem, which includes a signature shoe, collaborative footwear, and even a Badbo Golf shoe. What began with lifestyle footwear collaborations has steadily expanded into performance categories, further cementing the artist’s impact across multiple corners of the brand.
An official release date and retail price have yet to be announced, but the adidas Badbo 1.0 is expected to arrive sometime this summer.
