New Balance is letting the 5030 make noise early, mostly through metallic colorways. The New Balance 5030 “Eggplant” is next in line, releasing June 9, 2026 in unisex sizing for $120.
A purple iridescent finish covers the upper and gives the shoe its color-shifting look. It reads darker than the usual shiny metallic sneaker, which helps the “Eggplant” name make sense right away. Curved paneling breaks up the surface, while the side “N” logo sits inside the shape instead of being pushed forward with heavy contrast.
Black shows up in the right places. The tongue, laces, sockliner, and midsole all use the darker shade, giving the sneaker a stronger base and keeping the upper from feeling like one big reflective shell.
The 5030 is still finding its place in the New Balance lineup, but these early metallic pairs give it a more defined lane. This version keeps the formula simple.
