Ten years after delivering one of the most celebrated Air Jordan collaborations of the 2010s, KAWS and Jordan Brand are reuniting on the Air Jordan 4. Sneaker News can exclusively confirm that a KAWS x Air Jordan 4 is scheduled to release during the Summer 2027 season, marking the 10th anniversary of the artist’s original collaboration with Jordan Brand.
First released in 2017, the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 famously transformed the silhouette with an all-grey suede construction covered in the artist’s signature hand artwork, subtly etched throughout the upper. A glow-in-the-dark outsole continued the motif underfoot. The collaboration was followed later that year by a black edition.
What exactly KAWS and Jordan Brand have planned for 2027 remains unclear, but we can confirm official colors of Dark Grey/Dark Grey. The original 2017 release was officially dressed in Cool Grey, while its follow-up went completely black, placing “Dark Grey” somewhere between those two familiar executions. However, it is not yet known whether the upcoming release will recreate the construction and artwork of the 2017 collaboration or introduce an entirely new interpretation of the Air Jordan 4.
2027 stands to be yet another pivotal year for Jordan Brand. Nike, Inc. CEO Elliott Hill confirmed that there will be less pairs in circulation to increase public demand. In addition to that strategic approach, the Jumpman will continue to deliver the most coveted collaborations that sneakers have to offer.
What we do know is significant enough: KAWS and Jordan Brand are returning to the Air Jordan 4 exactly a decade later. Stay tuned as more details emerge and refresh your memory with this gallery of the Jordan 4 KAWS from 2017.
