After months of early looks and on-foot appearances, Nike Basketball has officially unveiled the LeBron 24 in the “Stars” colorway, opening another chapter in one of the longest-running signature sneaker lines in basketball history.
LeBron sneakers have historically been substantial performance shoes, appropriately built around the size, strength, and power of their namesake. But as James has gotten older, his signature footwear has gradually shed weight to accommodate an athlete who continues competing deep into his 40s.
As the 41-year-old begins the newest chapter of his career with the Philadelphia 76ers, Nike has taken that evolution to its logical extreme: the LeBron 24 is officially the lightest game shoe in the history of his signature line.
Central to that achievement is KingKnit, a new LeBron-specific upper engineered for lightweight strength, breathability, and containment. Underfoot, a full-length React foam drop-in midsole works alongside forefoot and heel Air Zoom units, while a midfoot shank adds stability and a new traction pattern provides grip.
The storytelling is evolving with the athlete. First off, the LeBron 23 campaign from front to end accomplished a ful retelling of every bit of LeBron lore. Now, they’re using the LeBron 24 to pass lessons from James’ career onto the generation following him.
Upcoming colorways will explore five principles: Wonder, Family, Fear, Luck, and Discovery. It begins with the “Shooting Stars” launch colorway inspired by a formative AAU team from LeBron’s childhood, one that has been referenced through various PE colorways of the past.
The Nike LeBron 24 “Stars” releases globally on November 17th through Nike and select retailers in both adult and grade school sizes; see official imagery ahead.
