“Black Cat” Coloring Creeps Onto The Nike Air Max 1 Premium

by thesneakerscroll@gmail.com

Now spread far beyond Michael Jordan’s brand that birthed the title, “Black Cat” has quickly entered the conversation for most attention-grabbing monikers in sneakers, a newfound splashiness likely minted with the Air Jordan 4 of that title but one that continues nearly half a decade after. With silhouettes as far flung as the New Balance 9060 attracting eyes with the black-on-black theme, the Nike Air Max 1 is a far more fitting candidate by comparison, unveiling its third take in as many years.

As you’d expect from anything bearing the unofficial title, the entire shoe is drenched in darkness from heel to toe, crucially distinguishing itself from the pair revealed last year with a fully translucent and untinted Air Bubble under the heel. Where the PRM sub-head comes into play is in the materiality, brandishing higher quality suede than mainline editions across the entire body and onto the tongue. With retailer images of the Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” surfacing and its Holiday release date drawer nearer, perhaps this is a knowing play on Beaverton’s part, issuing a partner for that pair as its presence swells anew.

Consistent with all the product from this batch of retail images, the Nike Air Max 1 PRM “Black Cat” is due out for Holiday 2025, placing its launch sometime between October and the end of the year. We anticipate a retail price somewhere in the $160 range.
