Metagirl may not be a household name just yet, but the Boston-based, Italy-born customizer is well-known in the industry, churning out bangled, bejeweled, floral, or otherwise feminine reimagined versions of countless silhouettes. Scroll through the creative’s Instagram feed and you’ll be treated to such overhauls of the ASICS GEL-Kayano 14, Doc Martens, and adidas Tischtennis. Yet none shine brighter than her latest announcement, teeing up her first official collaboration: the Metagirl x Saucony Progrid Paramount.
Though embedded jewelry isn’t a major part of this design, Metagril doesn’t spare any delicate detail in her Saucony Paramount, pinning frilly lace detailing below the collar and a 3D-molded shell heel clip at the very rear. Look just below for a clever flip on the typical pre-aged sole, instead shifting that section to earnestly reflect sand. That’s further reinforcement of the shoe’s uniting theme, connecting to Vedic texts which refer to pearls as a product of water and lightning, leading to the title “Daughter of the Moon” for this link-up.
The Paramount series, much like current trendy peers like the Progrid Omni 9 or Triumph 4, originally paced the catalog as performance options. Though Metagirl’s touches obscure the hardware a little bit, this does herald an earnest bringback of its first model, the Progrid Paramount, visible with the ridged collar and wide knit in the upper. Again, it’s hard to judge what mainline pairs may look like given the collaborative overhaul on display here, but in the early goings it does appear that the cushioning underfoot has been modernized for this rewned run.
The Metagirl x Saucony Paramount hasn’t been given an official date nor price by the brand, but an earlier post by the designer hints at an August 2025 launch. Catch campaign shots below and keep our coverage close by for updates in the coming days.
