Following special collections for tennis star Jannik Sinner and French footballer Désiré Doué, Nike’s bespoke Atelier platform has taken on its tallest task yet, literally. NBA star Victor Wembanyama, at 7’4″ with a size 22 sneaker, is the latest recipient of a bespoke apparel collection, the French phenom meeting the energy of the moment with a football-inspired range as his country sniffs the World Cup trophy. And just like Doué’s collection, there’s footwear that will see a public release.

Wemby lends his likeness to an elevated Nike Total 90 inspired by the original Total 90 Laser III, famously worn by world-class strikers Wayne Rooney and Fernando Torres in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Nike Atelier’s adaptation features a premium off-white leather upper, paring down the boot’s busy paneling with clean monotone coloring. Early images show soccer studs underfoot, though whether this is a true lifestyle or soccer option remains unclear.

The clothing, while it won’t see a public release, is worth discussing in its own right. The standout piece is a bespoke LenoWoven jacket made from a cotton blend inspired by the tech of Nike Football boots.

Wemby’s Nike Atelier Total 90 will be available for preorder on July 20th via The Broken Arm and Dover Street Market in Paris, Nike Soho and Nike House of Innovation in NYC, and Nike SNKRS for all of North America. No price has been announced, but given the recent Nike Atelier Merc Premium, something north of $300 seems likely.
