The Air Jordan 4 “Comic” is a new colorway set to release on July 25, 2026. What’s unique about the shoes is that they’re inspired by a vintage t-shirt released in 1985 that resembles a comic book. Highlighted with Nike Air, the retail price is $230.

Update (7/12/26): Official photos have landed of the “Comic” Jordan 4. This pair will drop on July 25th for $230.

Comic Books and sneakers don’t usually cross paths. However, we have seen sneakers inspired by various superheroes and supervillains in the past. For an upcoming release, Jordan Brand will take a different route with the “Comic” Air Jordan 4. Instead of dropping a sneaker for a character, the inspiration for this pair comes from a t-shirt from 1985 of Michael Jordan dunking and resembling a comic book.

Although the image used is a mock-up, the pair will feature elements from the image shown. Before I talk about the unique elements, the colors used are Off White, Anthracite, Neutral Grey, Fire Pink, Light Arctic Pink, and Muslin. Typically, the Air Jordan 4 features wing eyelets in a boxed design. With the Comic release, the shoes will feature the classic “Pow” graphic outline, signifying a punch or hit, and are dipped in Pink.

To further the comic book theme, the Nike Air has been modified on the heels. The font will resemble vintage comic-book fonts and feature a gradient, pixelated finish. Even the Swoosh will look drawn on. Underneath the mesh netting is a gradient from Orange to Pink finish. As you can see, the pair will feature Off-White on the upper, followed by Black on the midsole. Other details include Pink accents, a Jumpman on the tongue, and aged detailing around the Air unit.

Air Jordan 4 Comic Release Date

The Air Jordan 4 “Comic” will be released on July 25th, 2026, at select Jordan Brand retailers, including Nike.com, Finish Line, and Foot Locker. It’s likely to see this pair debut in July as Comic-Con San Diego takes place in late July. The retail price is $230. Once we have more details, we will update you.

Bottom Line

I think the design is cool, and even though I wasn’t born in the 60s or 70s, there’s something appealing about how older comic books. The “Pow” graphic replacing the standard wing eyelets is the kind of detail that makes a sneaker memorable rather than just another colorway with different colors slapped on. What I appreciate most is that Jordan Brand isn’t tying this to a specific superhero or Marvel/DC property. They’re pulling from the aesthetic of vintage comics themselves, which feels more creative than just putting Spider-Man colors on a shoe and calling it a collaboration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does “Fall 2026” mean this could release as late as September, or is July more likely?

Yes. However, a July release is likely due to San Diego Comic-Con happening in late July.

Is the aged detailing around the Air unit pre-yellowing or distressing?

Aged detailing typically means intentional discoloration or distressing applied during manufacturing to create vintage appearance. In this case, the pair will be yellowed to resemble an older release.
