While the blocking was identical to the original, it featured a silhouette of Mars Blackmon on the heel. This pair was a tribute to the commercials that Michael Jordan and Spike Lee did in the late 80s.
We saw another retro release occur in 2012. This time, it didn’t feature the Mars Blackmon logo. While the blocking was the same, it had a Jumpman on the heel, and the shape wasn’t close to the original. The last time the shoes released was in 2020, and it was the closest pair to date. The shape was better than in 2012, and it came with Nike Air branding.
2027 Details
This Air Jordan 4 will feature a White, Black, Tech Grey, and Fire Red color combination. As for the blocking, it will be the same as in previous releases and will include Nike Air on the heel. Highlighted with White leather on the upper, Black lands on the wing eyestays, under the mesh, heel, and part of the midsole. Fire Red then appears on the Jumpman, liner, eyelets, part of the midsole, and Nike Air on the heels.
The difference between the 2027 release and others is the shape. Jordan Brand will give the “Fire Red” the original-shape treatment, just like they are doing with recent Air Jordan 4s.
