Update (8/18/26): Initially expected to launch in 2026, the “Light Aqua” Air Jordan 6 will now debut on June 18, 2027.

As most know, 2026 will celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 6. Originally released in 1991, the best way to commemorate a memorable model is to drop an abundance of colorways. Furthermore, this is the model that Michael Jordan wore to win his first NBA Championship and kick off his first 3-Peat. For Summer 2027, the “Light Aqua” Air Jordan 6 will land at retailers.

I get it. Most people want the original colorways to return, and so do I. Although I have heard rumors of OGs coming, so far, we can expect the “White Infrared” to return to retailers in late 2026. We also have the first release of the “Reverse Infrared” Air Jordan 6. Initially, a sample was produced in 1999. Ultimately, we are getting more new themes.

This Air Jordan 6 features a Light Aqua and Multi-Color color combination. Highlighted with Aqua across the upper, the pair has received the “Tiffany” nickname.

We can expect both Black and Grey accents. Black will cover most of the midsole, spoiler, and tongue, with Grey hits sprinkled throughout. Other details will include the signature visible Air unit, Nike Air branding on the heel, and a translucent rubber outsole.

Bottom Line

I think it’s decent if it actually looks like the mock-up, but that’s a big “if” considering we haven’t seen the actual sample yet. The light aqua color giving off “Tiffany” vibes could work really well if Jordan Brand executes it properly. That shade has proven popular on other sneakers, and it’s versatile enough to wear with different outfits without being too loud.

What worries me is that the black and grey accent placement hasn’t been confirmed, which means the final product could look completely different from what’s being shown. If black covers most of the midsole, spoiler, and tongue like the mock-up suggests, that creates nice contrast against the aqua upper. However, if Jordan Brand decides to flip the color blocking, this could end up looking worse than expected.

I appreciate that we’re getting new colorways for the 35th anniversary instead of just rehashing the same OG releases over and over, even though I understand why people want those originals back. The “White Infrared” and “Reverse Infrared” returning is great, but having fresh options like the “Light Aqua” gives collectors who already own the classics something different to add to their rotation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this release in women’s sizing or only men’s?

The “Light Aqua” Jordan 6 will be a men’s release, and there are no plans of the shoes dropping in women’s sizes. However, it’s possible that they will debut in kids sizes.

Does general release mean this will sit on shelves or still sell out eventually?

General release means wider distribution and higher production numbers than limited releases, but it doesn’t guarantee the shoes will remain available indefinitely. But, depending on the final outcome of the pair, it’s likely to hang around retailers for a while and won’t sell out.
