The ASICS GEL-NYC 2.0 is headed down I-95 to Philly, specifically the Linc. Lapstone & Hammer is giving the model an Eagles-inspired touch by way of Domenico “Big Dom” DiSandro, a jack of all trades who’s served as senior advisor to the general manager, director of game day coaching operations, and chief security officer for the Philadelphia Eagles since 1999.
The colorway itself is undeniably Eagles, sporting a neutral white and grey foundation with the team’s signature green landing in suede on the eyestays, heel, and toe. The main “Big Dom” touch is a gold Italian horn chain modeled after the one Dom, and Italian-Americans throughout the Northeast corridor for that matter, wear on the daily. The shoe goes by “GEL-PHL,” offering a local Philly spin on the model’s usual name.

“Philadelphia has a way of making things its own. The GEL-PHL is our expression of that. The everglade green gives it an immediate connection to the city, but the story goes deeper than that. It’s about loyalty, looking out for your people, and carrying a piece of home with you. That’s what makes Big Dom such a natural part of this project. The cornicello is something personal to him, and giving one with every pair purchased from LAPSTONE lets us share that meaning with our community.” — Brian Nadav, Founder, Lapstone & Hammer.
The ASICS GEL-NYC 2.0 “GEL-PHL” launches October 3rd exclusively in-store at Lapstone & Hammer and online at lapstoneandhammer.com. Retail is set at $155.
