BAPE is always willing to take a big swing, and they’ve never shied away from shifting their roster to reflect current trends. We’ve seen that in the past few seasons as they’ve introduced their own “snoafer,” the Shark Sta Loafer, a spin-off of another experimentation in the Shark Sta proper, bearing real resemblance to the tech runners that have dominated this decade.

Cut even further back to 2024, when the brand introduced the BAPE Manhunt, a ripple-sole style clearly tooled after the Clarks Wallabee. In the time since its introduction, the streetwear giant has been restrained in how often they’ve deployed it, but now, it’s making a surprise appearance as the Manhunt Tabi Toe. Reaching for the historical Japanese invention creates some natural synergy with the colorway utilized here; deep navy suede becomes Sashiko-like with intentional distressing down the midline and ripped fabrics that reveal geometric prints in asymmetrical executions across left and right.

The BAPE Manhunt Tabi Toe is set to land in Japan on September 5th, though it’s unclear whether a stateside drop will follow.
