Teyana Taylor is still reaping the benefits of a tremendous 2026, where she co-starred in the year’s Best Picture winner and redoubled her status as an A-lister in Jordan Brand’s eyes via the Jordan 3 “Concrete Rose.” Even some five months after the release of her latest joint project, we’re still feeling the after effects, as a look at an unreleased sample from the Teyana Taylor x Air Jordan 3 story comes to light.
Revealed at the Dyckman Basketball League in New York City, the shoe was a part of an overall showcase for Taylor’s official Jumpman releases, shown next to the retail Air Jordan 3 and her Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2. This variation differs greatly in its palette, opting for red and grey instead of the green and grey of the eventual release. In that way, it’s a less photo-realistic adaptation of the “Rose From Concrete” story, spotlighting the “rose” aspect versus the public pair, which saved it for a final flourish on the tongue. The spackled midsoles are also more restrained, only creeping onto the upper in a slight patch on the lateral side. Obviously, the vine shroud from the retail version is also absent.
It’s a losing battle attempting to speculate on why this colorway was left on the cutting room floor, but the retail Teyana Taylor x Air Jordan 3 no doubt takes far greater risks, even if the concrete arrangement shown in this sample would’ve been unprecedented in its own right.
