First Look At The Air Jordan 4 “Pink Thunder”

The Air Jordan 4 “Thunder” family is adding a new member—and for the first time, it belongs to the women. JD Sports has provided our first look at the upcoming Air Jordan 4 “Pink Thunder,” revealing the sneaker in-hand for the first time since news of the release surfaced.

As the nickname suggests, Jordan Brand takes one of the Air Jordan 4’s most successful color-blocking formulas and swaps its signature yellow for a decidedly softer shade of pink.

The story dates back to 2006, when the original “Thunder” introduced an all-black Air Jordan 4 accented by Thunder Yellow across the midsole, netting, and lace eyelets. The combination has proven remarkably durable over the two decades since, eventually spawning offshoots including the “Red Thunder” and “White Thunder.”

The upcoming edition sticks closely to that familiar formula, with black dominating the upper while a muted pink—somewhat reminiscent of the shade seen on the “Art Basel” Jordan 4—provides the contrast. Based off this color arrangement alone, the Pink Thunder 4s will be a huge success.

The release also marks the first Thunder-style Air Jordan 4 created specifically for women. Jordan Brand will offer the sneaker in women’s, preschool, and toddler sizing, although we’d expect plenty of men to be hunting down the larger women’s sizes come launch day.
