New Balance Readies A “Night Lights” Pack Across Their Lifestyle Catalog

New Balance’s inline capsules have given the brand a chance to flex the overall strength of their catalog, pinning disparate new faces together with united colorways. The last time we got a chance to check in on such a case was with the “Warm Skies” capsule, offering sunny looks for the 2000, 740, Ellipse, and 204L.

As summer starts to wind down, the Boston brand is responding in kind, taking things from seasonal warmth to dusky refreshes of similar coloring. Half of the aforementioned faces make repeat appearances, but it’s only right to start with the latest inductee in the New Balance 9060R. An upper inspired by the 993 and the same beloved chunky platform from the 9060 proper anchor this offshoot, here given the standard blend of off-whites and grays before a yellow “N” badge and indigo trim in the sole unit hit on the core combo at the heart of the “Night Lights” effort.

Shift to the New Balance 2000 and New Balance 740 for proof of that. Either one captures nocturnal base layers before shifting into far brighter tonalities on top, especially effective with the teal/neon green interplay on the 740. We close on the FuelCell Rebel v5, a steadfast everyday trainer, making the most of its inclusion by injecting gray-to-black gradients in its upper and sole unit.

The New Balance “Night Lights” pack will release on August 5th via NewBalance.com and in-store retail locations. The 740 clocks in at $115, the FuelCell Rebel at $145, the 9060R at $160, and the 2000 at $170.
