The only thing missing on this upcoming Nike Dunk Low is the plastic cover. Beaverton continues to surprise us with some of the routes it’s driving the Dunk Low down, here teeing up a new autumn style akin to the sofas that decorate grandma’s living rooms worldwide.
We should lead with the fact that this theme isn’t entirely unfamiliar in the sneaker world. Cincinnati’s Unheardof explored the same idea with an adidas Forum Lo series in the not too distant past, albeit with a completely different execution.
The upper is cut from velvet and features an elaborate floral pattern in “Golden Hops/Velvet Brown,” very autumnal and, at least in our eyes, very granny-coded. Puffy white stitching forms the Swooshes on both sides, each taken with brown piping for added definition. Pale Ivory canvas forms the tongue, matched by more Pale Ivory on the laces and leather inner lining.
