The Nike Kobe 10 Protro “Halo” will be released on August 23, 2026. This marks the first time that Kobe Bryant’s tenth signature shoe will be retro. Furthermore, this pair will help celebrate Kobe Bryant’s birthday, which would have been his 48th. The retail price is $200.

Nike Basketball and Kobe Bryant’s estate will expand on the “Halo” series, with the release of the Nike Kobe 10 Protro. The model was originally released in 2015, and the last pair we saw debut was the “FTB” iteration in 2016. In my opinion, this will be the first time the shoes will be retro.
The “Halo” series honors Kobe Bryant’s birthday each year, and the series started in 2023 with the Kobe 8. In 2024, we saw the debut of the Kobe 9 Elite High and the Kobe 9 Elite Low. Lastly, in 2025, we saw the return of the Kobe 3 in Protro form.
Nike has also updated the technology on the Kobe 10 Protro. Gone is the Lunarlon foam and heel Zoom Air setup found on the original release. Replacing it is Cushlon 3.0 foam paired with a full-length Zoom Strobel unit placed directly underfoot. This new cushioning setup is designed to provide a more responsive ride while delivering smoother transitions from heel to toe.
The upper is still constructed with engineered mesh, but Nike has reworked the material for improved performance. It offers better breathability than the original while creating a more comfortable fit. The forefoot now has a little more room, and reinforced sections along the upper help keep the foot locked in during quick cuts and changes of direction.
Underneath, Nike refined the traction using athlete performance data while keeping the same overall concept as the 2015 release. The carbon fiber support wing returns along the forefoot to help with lateral stability, and Kobe Bryant’s hidden “Endure and Conquer” message remains part of the design as a nod to the original pair.

Bottom Line
During the initial run of Kobe 10 releases, Nike Basketball put out a ton of great colorways. However, the “Halo” pair was not one of them. However, this release is special as it celebrates Bryant’s birthday. I can appreciate the meaning behind the shoes, but I am not a big fan of mostly White kicks. I do hope this is a sign of more color options returning next year.
