Nike SB Air Force 1 “Light Chocolate” Releases August 13th

The skate-able Nike SB Air Force 1 is continuing its run with the release of the “Light Chocolate” colorway on August 13th, an earthy pair that feels especially well suited for the autumn months just around the corner.

Official images show a Light Chocolate suede foundation with matching brown hits on the tongue, interior, and outsole, contrasted ever so slightly by a black midsole, backtab, and Swoosh. We were suspicious when we first heard Nike would be dropping an SB Air Force 1 given that the model, on paper, doesn’t exactly check all the boxes of what makes a good skate shoe with its relatively high-off-the-ground midsole. But word from real skaters is that Nike SB did a fine job with its alterations, namely a more padded tongue and interior, thinner toe, wider toe box, and updated traction.

This “Light Chocolate” colorway continues a line of inline styles following “Light Orewood Brown,” “Triple Black,” and “Flax” releases that began back in April. The Nike SB Air Force 1 is also going about its run with its own “Color Of The Month” program featuring collaborations by names like Fly Streetwear, Instant Skateboards, Nocturnal, Ben-G, and probably plenty more to come, a throughline back to the earliest days of modern sneaker collecting with an assist from those within SB’s inner circle. That’s to say the model is looking more and more like a permanent member of the Beaverton skate catalog than something more temporary like the Nike SB Air Max 95.
