Nike is giving Ja Morant another model to add to his basketball lineup. The Nike Twelve Time serves as his first dedicated takedown shoe, bringing some of the visual ideas from his signature sneakers to a more accessible price point. The model was first spotted earlier in 2026 before Nike officially revealed the initial colorways. One of the first color options to be released is known as “Nightmare.”

For the “Nightmare,” Nike uses a Purple Dynasty, Rio, Black, Aurora Blue, and Cobalt Bliss color combination. Purple covers much of the upper, while Black and darker shades provide contrast. The shoe also features Ja branding throughout, along with hidden “12” details that connect it back to Morant.

The design has some similarities to the Ja 3, but the construction is different. The upper uses tightly woven mesh, while molded details run along the sidewalls. An oversized Swoosh also wraps toward the tongue, giving the shoe a distinctive appearance from above.

The outsole continues the aggressive approach. A herringbone traction pattern is divided into triangular sections, helping provide grip for quick movements on the court.

Bottom Line

The “Nightmare” Nike Twelve Time gives Ja Morant a more affordable basketball option without losing the personality found throughout his signature line. The Purple Dynasty color scheme stands out, while the dual-density foam and herringbone traction keep the focus on the court. At $90, the Twelve Time should give players another way to get into Ja’s basketball lineup without paying the price of a main signature model.
