Pharrell’s adidas Water Moc Might Be The Perfect Vacation Shoe

Pharrell Williams’ adidas VIRGINIA universe is officially getting its third footwear silhouette. Following the breakout adidas Jellyfish and the low-profile Vario Flat Earther, adidas and Pharrell are ready to launch the VIRGINIA Watermoc with three debut colorways arriving globally on September 5th.

As we laid out in our overview of Pharrell’s VIRGINIA imprint, the Jellyfish represents expression, the Flat Earther reinterpretation, and the Watermoc is where VIRGINIA gets experimental. The silhouette traces its roots to the early-2000s adidas Adventure Water Moc, an obscure piece of the brand’s outdoor archive that Pharrell has transformed with a highly technical construction that includes a neoprene U-throat, breathable mesh ventilation, reflective webbing, bungee speed lacing, and a rugged rubber lug outsole built for traction.

In practice, the Watermoc might be the perfect vacation shoe. Its water-ready construction makes it something you can actually wear into the ocean at the beach, but it doesn’t look so specialized that it needs to stay there. Wear it onto the boardwalk, walk around town in it, and, with the right outfit, you could probably take it straight to the nightclub later that evening. That versatility feels like the Watermoc’s biggest strength: one shoe that can conceivably handle an entire vacation day without ever needing to head back to the hotel for a footwear change.

The Watermoc, initially previewed during a VIRGINIA beach takeover in Marseille earlier this summer, is now confirmed for a global launch on September 5th, 2026 for $140 each through adidas CONFIRMED, Pharrell’s adidas storefront, and select retailers worldwide.
